About Us

Fer Vilarino began his career in architecture in 1996 after graduating with a BA from Columbia University in NYC, then completing his formal architecture studies at Universidad de Buenos Aires. He then spent the next 20 years in Argentina honing his talents working on projects in Argentina as well as Uruguay, Columbia, Mexico and Switzerland.

In 2016 he returned to the United States and founded his firm FV architects to bring his International perspective back the US. Since then he has grown a varied client base doing projects in the Chicago area, as well as Florida and Michigan while also continuing to take on projects in Argentina. He now maintains clients on 3 continents!

Fer approaches his projects by becoming intimately involved with each project from start to finish using a client based collaborative process to develop designs that are tailor made ‘Architectural Identities’. He approaches the design plan like a psychotherapist looking to get inside the hearts an d minds of his clients to meet their dreams and expectations for the perfect space. The completed vision also strives to create a strong connection to both the interior and exterior spaces he is designing.

An avid fan of the outdoors when not doing fabulous design, you can find him traveling, spending time in SW Michigan with his 2 cats and 2 dogs, and taking good care of his people, both two and four legged.
